Altair HWSolvers 2018.0.1 Hotfix | 632.6 mb

Altair has released an update to HyperWorks Solvers 2018, is a collection of finite element and multibody dynamics solvers for structural, fluid-dynamics and systems simulation. This hotfix contains key bug-fixes.

Altair MotionSolve

Resolved Issues
- Fluid responses are no longer wrong when FASTFR is used and high rank GE is present in the model.
- Fatigue results are no longer wrong when the UNIT of MATFAT is not MPa for EN fatigue.
- For S2S contact with CLEARANCE=0o0, all contacts are shown as oPEN in ocpr file (CoNTPRM,PREPRT,YES)o This is now fixed.
- Initial stress no longer errors out when ISTSADD (Initial stress bulk data, INISTRS, combination) is used.
- Programming error no longer occurs in a buckling analysis that points to a large displacement nonlinear subcase.

New Features and Enhancements
- Submodel (//SUBMoDEL)
. Can be defined inside a submodel
. The model needs to be written with the same format version as the executableo Input format conversion is not available with this versiono
. only one unit system can be used
- Contact interface friction defined by set of parts (beta version)
. A new keyword (/FRICTIoN) is used to define the friction model and coefficient between a group of parts or between two partso
. This friction model can be used in several contact interface and substitutes the friction model defined in the contact interfaceo
. Several contact interface frictions can be defined in a model, but only one can be referenced by each contact interfaceo
- Contact interface /INTER/TYPE24
. New flag Irem_i2=1 flag for deactivating the slave nodes if the same contact pair (node/segment) has been defined in a TYPE2 interface
- Contact interface /INTER/TYPE25
. New flag Igap=3 to automatically scale the contact gap according percentage of element mesh size (%mesh_size) to avoid self-penetration
- Materials
. /MAT/LAW70: implementation of a new flag to use Emax values in contact stiffness calculation instead of E0 (default)
- Time history file
. /TH/BRICK: new variable groups
.. STRAIN outputs the global strain variables EPSXX, EPSYY, EPSZZ, EPSXY, EPSZX, and EPSY
.. LoCSTRN outputs the local strain variables LEPSX, LEPSY, LEPSZ, LEPSXY, LEPSYZ, and LEPSZX
- Starter output file
. output of measure direction (DIR) for concerned sensors in starter output file (0oout)
. New messages when the wrong direction value is set in the input deck
- Engine file
. New /KEREL option Tstart and Tstop to define the start and stop the Kinematic relaxation. New engine solution control option for solid elements with a negative volume
.. /NEGVOL/STOP: the computation is stopped when one solid element reaches negative volume
.. /NEGVOL/SMSTR (default): the solid element switches to small strain and the computation continues
Resolved Issues
- Submodels (//SUBMODEL)
. Several compatibility issues with submodels has been fixed (user material laws, group of elements defined by box, spring TYPE13 and TYPE45, .)

About Altair HyperWorks. Altair HyperWorks is the most comprehensive, open architecture CAE simulation platform in the industry, offering the best technologies to design and optimize high performance, weight efficient and innovative products. HyperWorks includes best-in-class modeling, linear and nonlinear analyses, structural and system-level optimization, fluid and multi-body dynamics simulation, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), multiphysics analysis, model-based development, and data management solutions.

About Altair HyperWorks Solvers. HyperWorks Solvers is a collection of finite element and multibody dynamics solvers for structural, fluid-dynamics and systems simulation. These solvers can be employed for simulation driven design as well as design optimization.

With the 13.0 release, a renaming of our structural solver products has taken place in order to accommodate the growing trend of applying optimization technologies more intensively in the product development process, instead of just single run analysis. Moving forward, our structural and thermal analysis and optimization product for linear and non-linear events will be called OptiStruct; this includes analysis disciplines such as linear and non-linear statics, noise and vibrations and thermal analysis. Our product for highly-nonlinear, typically transient events such as crash, impact, forming or blast analysis will be RADIOSS. Both codes are developed with a strong focus on the above mentioned disciplines, and will continue to leverage technology mutually. OptiStruct will continue to leverage the widely used bulk data input format, and RADIOSS will continue to use the well suited block format. Moving forward, OptiStruct will also serve as the general framework for optimization involving multiple physics incl ding CFD and FSI with AcuSolve and multi-body dynamics with MotionSolve, and will also offer API to integrate additional solvers and solutions within a general multi-model framework.
